Training Director Earns “On Combat” Certification

Freehold NJ, Self defense instructors AxxNox Combatives Sciences (AxxNox.com) announced its Director of Training earned "On Combat" certification.

On Combat is Lt. Col. Grossman’s training how to survive in a hostile environment—from war overseas to the mean streets of urban America. Course units address key questions such as: What is required physically and psychologically to take another life. What happens to warriors during and after battle? How can healing begin?

Lt. Col. Grossman is a former West Point psychology professor, professor of military science, and Army Ranger who has combined his experiences to train those who must defend to act valiantly and wisely when violence is inevitable.

Does the adult CQC class incorporate full contact fighting? ​Yes and no. Combatives, because of its nature, must be practiced under controlled conditions. Because striking at the body's vulnerable parts is Combatives underlying counterattack principle, caution must be applied when using the techniques especially to the groin, throat and eyes.  However, controlled sparring with protective gear and groundwork is an integral part of the Combatives  curriculum. Advanced students regularly participate in "fighting classes." Combatives instructors emphasize two paradoxical training rules:  (1) there are no rules in a fight  (2) one must not injure oneself or one's partner when training.
